Maher El Tabchy Speaks on Purpose & Endurance at Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival

Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival

At the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival, Maher El Tabchy, Founder and CEO of Tabchilli, joined a fireside chat titled “29KM for a Cause: Endurance, Purpose and the Human Spirit.”

In conversation with Eric Robertsen, Chief Strategist at Standard Chartered Bank, Maher reflected on their remarkable ten hour open water swim from The World Islands to the shores of Dubai. The twenty nine kilometre challenge tested both physical and mental resilience and was undertaken to raise awareness for juvenile arthritis and autism.

Beyond the Swim

The session went far deeper than athletic performance.

Maher spoke openly about the preparation required for extreme endurance challenges, including discipline, daily repetition, mental strength and a deep connection to purpose. He drew thoughtful parallels between long distance swimming and entrepreneurship, two journeys that require patience, humility and the ability to stay committed long after most would give up.

The discussion also explored how choosing a cause greater than oneself changes the way a person trains, leads and endures moments when the finish line feels far away.

Entrepreneurship, Impact & the Human Spirit

For the audience of founders and leaders at the festival, the fireside chat delivered a clear message. Performance without purpose feels empty, but when endurance is connected to impact, resilience grows in powerful ways.

Maher’s presence at SEF reinforced his reputation not only as a food entrepreneur, but also as a voice for perseverance, long term thinking and mission driven leadership. These are the same values reflected in his journey with Tabchilli, one of the UAE’s recognised fermentation brands.
